Zendaya Got Rid of Her Publicist for Being Ridiculously Racially Insensitive
Zendaya doesn’t take any crap. When Giuliana Rancic made a biased comment about Z’s dreadlocks at the Oscars on E! Fashion Police, the Disney Channel star called the host out on her blatant racism. When Modeliste magazine unnecessarily Photoshopped her, she questioned why. And when someone referred to her as an “18-year-old stick,” she clapped back at the body-shaming hater. So you can guarantee that when makes an inappropriate statement in front of her, Daya’s ready to say bai.
That’s exactly what happened when her own publicist made a racially insensitive comment in a particular on-set situation. “I didn’t like my hair and makeup one time on a photo shoot,” Zendaya revealed to Cosmopolitan. “And my publicist told me, ‘You should just be happy with it — they haven’t had a black girl on the cover since forever.’ She’s no longer my publicist.”
