The competition for fame on the Internet has hit an all-time high — stars like Jake Paul literally make a living simply by pranking their friends and vlogging about it. So, of course, everyone wants in on the action and comes up with CRAZY ideas to one-up their competition. Pranks are basically a surefire ways to get views, which is a blessing to some…but a curse to others.
Some people went WAY too far in the hopes of gaining notoriety online by being a prankster. We’re talking injuries, police involvement and even the loss of life. YouTube pranks are all fun and games… until someone gets hurt. Or, like, dies.
A few weeks ago, a vlogger and her boyfriend decided to pull an extremely dangerous YouTube stunt — they wanted to test out the theory that a super thick book could stop a bullet.
Pregnant 19-year-old MonaLisa Perez shot her boyfriend, Pedro Ruiz, in the chest in front of her young daughter, killing him instantly. The teen was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter.
