A Complete List of Every YouTube Channel That Came to an End in 2017
Everyone had high hopes for this year after 2016 was debated to be the worst one ever — for reasons we don’t have the time or space to get into — and even though it’s not over yet, we think it’s safe to say 2017 has been pretty great so far. We’ve seen two of our Game of Thrones faves get engaged, two of the biggest musicians fall in love, and two beloved Kardashian sisters get (allegedly) pregnant. We could go on and on about the new shows and the new fab flicks that premiered in the last 12 months, but we think you get the picture. In a lot of ways, 2017 absolutely killed it.
But while this year may have had its moments, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Not only did 2017 bring the end of Teen Wolf and too many of our favorite celeb couples (we’re looking at you, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt!), it also made some changes to our YouTube subscriptions that we weren’t too happy about. It seems like the people behind our fave channels are taking breaks or flat out quitting right and left these days! And even though we might not be on board, we get it.
Whether you’re vlogging as a family or all on your own, updating your channel as often as some of these YouTubers do can really take a toll. It doesn’t just affect your schedule — and the number of Instagram followers you have — but your mental health and your relationships. That’s why so many of the people we’ve rounded up have put an end to their popular accounts. They’re not trying to upset us by leaving; in fact, part of the reason they hold on for as long as they do is because they don’t want to disappoint their fans! But after you take a look at the real reasons behind each of these YT departures, you’ll understand why they had to make the decisions they did.
