All The YouTube Couples That Have Broken Up This Year…
September 22, 2018
So far, 2018 has been a year full of ups and downs. There have been plenty of
engagements and pregnancies, but also overdoses, deaths and breakups, too.
In happy news, tons of YouTubers have
gotten engaged this year! Colleen Ballinger, Gigi Gorgeous and Hannah Hart are just a few of the video-makers who put a ring on it. We can’t wait to see all of them tie the knot but, unfortunately, not everyone has a happy ending. There are still several months left in 2018 and there have already been almost as many YouTuber breakups as last year! We hope the trend ends soon, but there are still three months left in the year, so who knows.

Liza Koshy and David Dobrik
Millions of hearts collectively broke when
Liza Koshy and David Dobrik announced their breakup in June. The two were considered YouTube's biggest power couple, so it was a big blow to watch them cry in front of a camera as they explained that the relationship was simply not working anymore.
But luckily, fans didn't have to be too sad. They
remained friends after the split, and Liza still pops up in David's videos from time to time!

LaurDIY and Alex Wassabi
It might sound weird, but truth be told,
LaurDIY and Alex Wassabi made what's probably the cutest breakup video of all time.
The two made the official announcement in September, but there was still so much hope and love coming through the screen. Although the YouTubers decided to take some time apart, they said it wasn't anything permanent. "It doesn't mean that Laurex is dead," Alex said. "Laurex is taking a nap!"

Jaclyn Hill and Jon Hill
A lot of people saw
Jaclyn Hill's breakup with her husband, Jon, coming. But that doesn't mean it hurt any less.
The beauty guru
announced her divorce from her spouse of almost nine years in May with an Instagram post and a tear-filled video.
"Although this has been one of the hardest decisions of our lives, I know it's what's best for the both of us," she wrote. "My heart is broken by this, but I still believe in love and believe everyone has a chance for a happy ending."
Luckily, the beauty guru is getting that chance again. She most likely has a
new boyfriend, and we're so happy for her!

Nikkietutorials and Rick
Nikkietutorials is notoriously private about her personal life, but most of her loyal viewers knew that she had a longtime boyfriend, Rick. But in January, a woman claimed that Rick cheating on the makeup artist with her and sh*t hit the fan.
Nikkie stayed silent on the situation, but in May she let her followers know that she was no longer in a relationship. She
tweeted, "You guys know I don’t like to talk about personal life too much, but I do want to let you know that I've been single for a while now. Don’t worry, still the best of friends and I’m excited for this new chapter in my life!"
Soooo we're not quite sure if the cheating scandal was true given that Nikkie said she and Rick were "still the best of friends," but either way, she seems to have made peace with the breakup.

Domo Wilson and Crissy Danielle
Domo Wilson and Crissy Danielle built a pretty amazing life together on YouTube. The vloggers got engaged in 2016, had a baby in 2017 and were set to marry in September of this year. But sadly, the two never made it down the aisle.
In a joint video, the girls
announced that they were no longer together. "It’s a sad situation,” Domo said. “We very much love each other, we’re best friends, and this is very hard. I want you all to know that we didn’t just give up — we really tried."
Although they no longer have a romantic relationship, Domo and Crissy said they're still tight and will continue to raise their son together to the best of their ability.

WolfieRaps and Sylvia Gani
WolfieRaps and Sylvia Gani's years-long relationship came to a messy end in May when Wolfie got exposed for having a side chick.
Jasmyn Garza leaked all of her conversations with the YouTuber and claimed that they were together for over six months while he was still dating Sylvia. Neither of the exes directly addressed Jasmyn, but Wolfie posted a vague Twitter statement and Sylvia posted a video titled " how to survive heartbreak."

Tanner Fox and Taylor Alesia

The YouTubers both said they were still friends, but they haven't appeared in each other's videos since the split was announced.

Tammy Hembrow and Reece Hawkins
Breakups are always heartbreaking, but things were especially hard for
Tammy Hembrow and Reece Hawkins. The couple has two kids together, but according to Tammy, just couldn't make things work.
"I don't want people to think we just gave up," she said in a
video announcing the split. "Most people know relationships are very complex. We love each other very much, and our kids are always going to come first and their health and happiness are always going to be my number one priority."

Sebastian Topete and Danielle Cohn
May was a rough month for YouTube couples, apparently! After 10 months of dating,
Sebastian Topete broke up with Danielle Cohn in May and she was not having it. When he posted to his Instagram story that they had broken up but were "still friends," she hit back by claiming that they were def not. It started a back-and-forth social media war that was even bigger than and Noah Cyrus Lil Xan's feud!
Eventually, things cooled off, but both Dani and Seb scrubbed each other from their Instagram accounts completely and moved on.

Tara Michelle and Taylor Baxter
Just a few weeks after
Tara Michelle and Taylor Baxter celebrated their second anniversary, the couple announced its breakup in a YouTube video. Judging from the video, it seems it was mostly Tay's decision.
In the clip posted on Tara's channel, Taylor explained that he felt he was being held back in the relationship. The 23-year-old said he wanted time to pursue projects on his own, and Tara didn't want to prevent him from doing those things. It looked pretty painful for Tara, but we're wishing both of them the best!

Mark Miller and Ethan Hethcote
Mark Miller and Ethan Hethcote were one of YouTube's most famous gay couples. The two were together for over five years and they both documented their lives together with vlogs, collabs, etc. But sadly, that came to an end when they confirmed their breakup in early September.
"Our professional lives and our personal lives just got really intertwined," Ethan said in a video filmed with Mark. "We just need to reevaluate how we’re doing individually because everything was just so habitually together." Mark added, "It’s not a big deal; we’re not trying to be dramatic about it. This is such a positive move for both of us."
Despite the breakup, the two are still friends and even live within five minutes of each other.

Teala Dunn and Luke Toniolo
Teala Dunn was all smiles when she introduced her boyfriend, Luke Toniolo, to subscribers back in April. The YouTuber said she had been dating the Australian model for five months prior to breaking the news, but it wasn't long before she had to make a different type of announcement.
video posted to her main YT channel in July, the 21-year-old said that she broke up with the 23-year-old in May. But, despite what some may have hoped, there wasn't much tea to spill "Doing long-distance when you're so young, especially with a career like mine, I'm so busy and constantly filming new things; it just wasn't realistic at all," she said. Teala couldn't handle the distance, so she broke things off... and she didn't seem too heartbroken about it.

Sally Jo and Tama Simanke
After nearly five years together, beauty guru
Sally Jo and her boyfriend, Tama Simanke, decided to go their separate ways in February. They got back together briefly, but SJ said they ultimately decided they were better off apart.
"We just grew into different people, and we didn't really have the same priorities in life," she
explained in a video, which was posted in September.
