13 YA Stars You TOTALLY Forgot Starred in Horror Movies
With Halloween just a few days away, we have no choice but to reminisce on all of our favorite horror movies and the celebrities who starred in them. And even though it seems like it would be so fun to work on the set of a horror film, there are still a bunch of celebs who simply prefer to stick to other genres. However, you’d be surprised to find out that many of your favorite actors who typically star in comedies, dramas and even sci-fi flicks, have actually tested out the waters in horror as well.
For example, in 1994, Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey starred side-by-side in Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. This is a huge difference from movies we typically see these actors star in, like Bridget Jones’s Diary and Fool’s Gold. Interestingly, even though the two were a part of a franchise as enormous as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, we still only really associate them with the more recent roles they’ve played within their usual genres.
Another shocking example of an actress you DEFINITELY don’t recall ever starring in a horror film is none other than Jennifer Aniston. That’s right! The Friends star actually tried her hand at horror films back in 1993, a year before the debut of the hit sitcom that launched her to superstardom. Ever since, Jen has starred mainly in comedies, and we’ve got to say, that’s where she shines the most.
The point is, we often forget that many of our favorite movie stars shockingly, at some point in their careers, have decided that they’d like to depart from their usual roles and try something way spookier. But let’s be real: These departures from the norm are pretty much never the roles (or movies) we remember as fans. Don’t believe us? Allow us to jog your memory! Check out these 13 YA stars you TOTALLY forgot starred in horror movies:
Shocking, we know, but Kristen Stewart did have a pretty successful career before the arrival of Twilight. In fact, the year before the first film was released, Kristen starred in a scary movie called The Messengers and, honestly, we still have nightmares about it!
