Here’s Why Pete Davidson Deleted All Instagram Posts & Quit Social Media
Yesterday, Pete Davidson took a page from Miley Cyrus‘ book and deleted every single post from his Instagram account. But while MiCy probably wiped everything to begin a new era in her music career, the Saturday Night Live star stepped back for a different reason.
The 24-year-old’s decision to leave IG behind comes a day after he fought with trolls in the comments section of fiancée Ariana Grande‘s Insta page, which could be part of the reason why he called the internet an “evil place” when explaining his departure.
“no there’s nothing wrong. no nothing happened. no there’s nothing cryptic about anything. i just don’t wanna be on instagram anymore. or on any social media platform,” he said on his Instagram Story last night. “the internet is an evil place and it doesn’t make me feel good. why should i spend any time on negative energy when my real life is f*cking lit. the fact that i even have to say this proves my point. i love you all and i’m sure i’ll be back at some point 🙂 your neighborhood goon, pete”
The “God is a Woman” crooner says she might always step away from Twitter and Instagram because you “can’t help but bump into some negative sh*t that really can bum u out and it’s not worth it honestly.”
yeh ! i’m prolly gonna post on der for a little while & take a breather from twitter & ig for a little. just sometimes can’t help but bump into some negative shit that really can bum u out and it’s not worth it honestly. promised i’d always tell you. i love u sm ! be well & happy
