Miley Cyrus Had the Perfect Excuse for Not Being at the 2017 Grammy Awards
The 2017 Grammy Awards were last night, and the ceremony was all sorts of lit. Beyonce! Adele! Katy Perry! But that doesn’t mean the event was well-received by every famous musician. Stars like Justin Bieber, Drake and Frank Ocean all said, “Nah,” to music’s biggest night, opting for alternatives, like posting negative commentary on Tumblr or live Instagramming about their ex’s new boyfriend. Another singing celeb who was noticeably not in attendance: Miley Cyrus.
The last time the 24-year-old actress/singer attended the Grammys was in 2015, when Bangerz was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. (No, Miley did not win.) But, even when she wasn’t up for one of the coveted prizes, she’s been known to attend, starting in 2008, then again in 2009, 2010, and 2011. She also attended the 2013 and 2014 Pre-Grammy Galas via Clive Davis. This year? She had a far better evening planned.
In a series of Instagrams, the Hannah Montana alum documented her exciting evening:
“Date night with my love!,” she captioned a picture with her collie, Emu. “Why aren’t you at the Grammys they ask??? Cuz I f*cking loooooove dogs,” she added.
But, perhaps, there’s hope for the 2018 ceremony. “Maybe next year I’ll just bring a fewwww!!!!!” she exclaimed. That. Would be. AMAZING.
Not everyone’s a fan of Miley Cyrus, especially these celebrities:
