Want To Be The Next Whitney Port? Here’s How!

By  |

Whitney Port has a pretty dreamy resume. She went from interning at fashion magazines to assisting at Diane von Furstenberg, and now she has her very own clothing line and she’s a published author. Oh, and in the midst of all that she starred in her own hit TV show.

But that doesn’t mean you need your own reality show or crazy connections to find a successful career in fashion! Really!

The City star revealed some serious tips to her alma mater Teen Vogue about how you can be the next Whitney Port.

On taking risks: “I was so scared and unsure of myself when I moved to New York City two years ago, but I’ve found that taking leaps of faith pays off in the end.”

On loving fashion: “When I was a kid, my best friend and I traded clothes and would put on runway shows!”

On working hard: “Being in the fashion industry seems so glamorous, but what people don’t realize is that it can be cutthroat and requires such hard work.”

On co-workers: “If you have a coworker who isn’t nice, understand that there’s nothing you can do to change that person. Focus on being the best you can be. As my mom says, the cream always rises.”
