Pete Davidson Knew He Wanted to Marry Ariana Grande the Day They Met
If you thought Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande getting engaged after only dating for a few weeks was crazy, wait until you hear when the comedian knew he wanted to marry the singer.
The 24-year-old opened up to GQ magazine about the couple’s whirlwind romance, which started on the day they met.
“The day I met her, I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow,'” he says.
While you may assume the “God is a Woman” crooner quickly shut down Pete’s quick advances, she actually played along.
He recalls, “She was calling my bluff. I sent her a picture [of engagement rings]. I was like, ‘Do you like any of these?’ She was like, ‘Those are my favorite ones,’ and I was like, ‘Sick.'”
Not too long after that conversation, the Saturday Night Live star paid $93,000 for a custom-made 3.03-karat diamond ring. New York City jeweler Greg Yuna commissioned the piece, which took about two weeks to create.

Fans had a theory that Pariana was going to tie the knot on August 8, 2018, which is Pete’s late father’s NYFD badge number, but he says they haven’t even really started planning the wedding.
“[It’s] definitely going to happen, for sure,” he confirms about the impending nuptials, however.
The engaged celebrities live in a $16 million apartment in New York City, but Pete still has a hard time believing it’s his, because Ari was the one who purchased it.
“She’s really sweet. She’s like, ‘This is our house,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re very nice for saying that. Thank you for letting me stay here,'” he jokes. “She’s like, ‘We’re getting married!’ And I’m like, ‘I know, thank you for letting me stay here.'”
The couple has “six beanbags” but “no forks” in the space, he says. “We’re having a really fun time.”
