2013 YouTube Music Awards Recap

By  |

The Grammys, the VMAs, and now — the YouTube Music Awards?! That's right, YouTube had their inaugural YouTube Music Awards on Sunday night, and it drew some seriously big names. Though only a few awards were handed out and it was all streamed on YouTube (duh), the night was full of surprises and performances from artists such as Eminem and Lady Gaga.

It's no secret that a lot of musical acts have gotten their start thanks to YouTube (we're looking at you, Justin Bieber) so it would make sense for YouTube to branch into something like this. Our pals over at Clevver Music broke down the evening's festivities, so if you need to get caught up, watch the video above to see what when down! Also, check out the big winners below.

Artist Of The Year: Eminem
Video Of The Year: Girls' Generation, "I Got A Boy"
YouTube Phenomenon: Taylor Swift" I Knew You Were Trouble"
Innovation of the Year: DeStorm, "See Me Standing"
Response Of The Year: Lindsey Stirling and Pentatonix, "Radioactive"
