Watch the First Trailer for Channing Tatum and Steve Carell’s New Movie, Foxcatcher (VIDEO)

After getting used to seeing Channing Tatum in dramatic love stories, romantic comedies or straight hilarious action films, it’s insanely strange to see the teaser trailer for his upcoming role as an intense wrestler in Foxcatcher. As if his serious new role wasn’t enough, there’s a scene where Chan physically harms himself, making us actually cringe. And although it’s weird to watch, we’ll be the first to say you will definitely get chills multiple times.

Also starring Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo, Foxcatcher is a based-on-a-true-story film about two wrestlers, Channing and Mark, who are trained for the 1988 Olympic Games by multimillionaire schizophrenic John du Pont (Carell). The boys’ relationship with du Pont takes an unexpected turn when his psychosis becomes too much to handle.

The movie doesn’t hit theaters until November 14, 2014, but film critics at Cannes were buzzing that it has Academy Awards potential written all over it. Watch the full teaser trailer above and be the judge — do you think this will land Steve, Channing, or Mark an Oscar nomination?
