Sandy Hook Students Sing ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’

It’s been just over a month since the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, but the community is slowly putting the pieces back together. Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, of musical groups Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, opened their studio up to the Sandy Hook choir to record their very own version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Not only did the students make beautiful music together (with special guest Ingrid Michaelson), but the single will be released for purchase, with the benefits going directly towards the Newtown Youth Academy and the United Way of Western Connecticut. If you want to purchase the single and help out, click here. Also make sure to watch the touching video above to get a behind the scenes look on how it all came together.
