Oh Boy, Ariana Grande’s Ex Just Dropped a Love Song

By  |

Earlier this year, Nathan Sykes revealed that he was prepared to drop solo music. Yes, meaning sans The Wanted. And it seems like the time has finally come for said music to hit the web!

From his upcoming debut album, which is tapped for release later this year, the 21-year-old singer introduced the world to “More Than You’ll Ever Know,” which focuses on his affections for a special someone. While it’s not for certain if the girl in question is ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande, it is certain that he’s prepared to dig a little deeper into their former relationship on the record. In a recent interview, he said, “The time we broke up was really tough. The Wanted decided to take a break and I lost my grandad. I was not in the best place. She was my first grown-up relationship. But sometimes you have to go into a place like that to be able to find the best music out of it.”

He added, “The most emotional song is about me telling myself not to be angry at the breakup because sometimes things just don’t work out. That’s life.” We’re sure this isn’t the ’emotional’ tune he referred to, since it’s got an upbeat electric guitar in the mix, but you still never know if it’s about Nariana or not. Listen above, get the lyrics below, then tell us your thoughts in the comments!

Hey girl, been thinkin’ of ya
Get you home with me and I won’t
Hey hey hey

Say girl, don’t want another
I’m down on my knees ready to
Hey hey hey

[BRIDGE]
It’s a cold, cold world
When I’m without ya
Don’t you know, know, girl
That I found ya

[CHORUS]
And I love ya more
More than you’ll ever know
And I need you more
More than you’ll ever know
So please don’t misbehave with my heart

Nothing can make me hate you
You’re the closest thing to heavenly nature
Hey hey hey

No other man will try to take ya
Coming over me despite behavior
Hey hey hey

[BRIDGE]

[CHORUS] x2

So please, please
Take it down for me, baby
Take it down for me, baby
Take it down for me, baby
Baby

Get it up for me, baby
Get it up for me, baby
Get it up for me, baby

[CHORUS]
