‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ International Trailer

By  |

It’s been a full month since the release of the first trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. And just when we were almost coming down from our high, the international trailer debuts. Meaning… never-before-seen footage. {INSERT AN INNUMERABLE AMOUNT OF EXCLAMATION POINTS HERE}

In the latest video, there’s less of a focus on lead Clary’s mother, Jocelyn. Instead, it delves more into the relationship between Clary (Lily Collins) and her father-slash-villain, Valentine (Jonathan Rhys Meyers). “Let me show you who you really are; who you were destined to be,” he proclaims.

Then, of course, there’s Clary’s best friend-who’s-totally-in-love-with-her, Simon (Robert Sheehan). Pretty sure we choked up a bit when he admits, “I’m the one who’s always been there for you, not him.”

The only complaint can make about the officially-released footage is that there’s not enough Magnus Bane. (Seriously, it’s just Godfrey Gao taking off his hood. Us Shadowhunters want more!) The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones hits theaters August 23, 2013. What do you think of the new trailer? Which character are you dying to see on the big screen? Spill!
