Peeta Stands by President Snow’s Side in New Mockingjay Teaser

There’s still a long while until the release of the third Hunger Games film, Mockingjay — Part 1, but we’re sure there are plenty of goodies in the works on Lionsgate’s end to keep us entertained; most recently, a teaser featuring President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and a silent Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) standing by his side on Capitol TV. If you didn’t read the books, then you’re probably all like, “Peeta, WTF are you doing??” But don’t worry, you’ll understand soon enough.

In the footage, the good ol’ president presents the following ominous message (or rather a warning): “Since the Dark Days, our great nation has known only peace. Ours is an elegant system conceived to nourish and protect.”

“Your districts are the body; the Capitol is the beating heart. Your hard work feeds us and, in return, we feed and protect you. But, if you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed. I know you will stand with me, with us, with all of us — together, as one. Panem today, Panem tomorrow, Panem forever.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth & Sam Claflin, hits theaters on November 21. Did you just get the chills? ’cause we totally just did.
