While it’s hard to think of Ansel Elgort as anyone other than Augustus Waters after his unbelievable performance in The Fault in Our Stars, he’s officially branching out to other things! In the first teaser trailer of his upcoming movie Men, Women and Children, Ansel plays a high school student who has to deal with the trials of growing up with the ever-growing presence of the Internet.

The role is different than what we’ve seen him in before, but don’t worry — he does, in fact, shed a tear in this movie, too. Here’s the official summary:

Men, Women & Children follows the story of a group of high school teenagers and their parents as they attempt to navigate the many ways the internet has changed their relationships, their communication, their self-image, and their love lives. The film attempts to stare down social issues such as video game culture, anorexia, infidelity, fame hunting, and the proliferation of illicit material on the internet. As each character and each relationship is tested, we are shown the variety of roads people choose – some tragic, some hopeful – as it becomes clear that no one is immune to this enormous social change that has come through our phones, our tablets, and our computers. Based on the novel by Chad Kultgen.

MW&C also stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Garner and according to HitFix will open everywhere on October 17. Watch the full trailer above and let us know your thoughts on seeing Ansel in such a different role!
