Jennifer Lawrence’s X-Men Character Mystique Cameos During End Credits of The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Just a small warning this post contains some mild spoilers, so if you've yet to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2, you might want to hold off on reading this post.

OK, now that that's out of the way — let's talk about that cameo. If you saw The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this weekend (and stuck around during the end credits) you probably noticed that Jennifer Lawrence's X-Men character Mystique made a little cameo.

The basic takeaway from the clip is that there are some mutants at a military camp who are about to be experimented on, but before they could be caused any harm, Mystique steps in and saves them. (And kicks some serious butt while doing so.) When someone asks her where Erik (aka Magneto) is, she tells them: "I'm on my own now."

Now, as awesome as it was for J-Law to be part of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, don't get your hopes up for a Peter Parker/X-Men collab, as this little clip was basically a favor on behalf of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 director, Marc Webb.

According to Variety, Marc "had an existing contract with Fox Searchlight to direct an upcoming movie and the only way that the studio would let him direct The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Sony was to include the scene in the film for free." And there you have it.
