The Into the Woods Teaser Trailer’s Missing One Crucial Element

By  |

It’s the day all fans of musicals (so basically everyone, right?) have been waiting for — the first teaser trailer for the Into the Woods movie adaptation is here! There’s just one teensy, weensy, itty, bitty little problem: There’s no music! Sure, there’s background music, but, like, no singing of any of the beautiful tunes from the enchanting stageplay. Grr… we guess we’ll let it slide because, other than that one element, it looks epic!

The story focuses on a witch (Meryl Streep) who conspires to teach important lessons to various characters of popular children’s stories, like Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Rapunzel (Mackenzie Mauzy) and Jack (Daniel Huttlestone) from Jack and the Beanstalk. And if the storyline itself doesn’t get you pumped, just look at the rest of the star-studded cast list: Johnny Depp as The Wolf, Chris Pine as Cinderella’s Prince, Emily Blunt as The Baker’s Wife, Christine Baranski as Cinderella’s Stepmother… Yeah, there are a lot of celebs.

Into the Woods hits theaters on December 25. (Ah, what a wonderful Christmas present!)
