‘If I Stay’ Movie Trailer Starring Chloe Moretz (VIDEO)
You’ve seen her burn down prom in Carrie; you’ve seen her kick ass in, well, Kick-Ass (1 AND 2); but you’ve never seen Chloe Moretz in a movie like If I Stay. The film, based on Gayle Forman’s thrilling YA novel of the same name, focuses on the out-of-body experience of Chloe’s character, Mia, as well as her life with her parents and relationship with Adam (played by Jamie Blackley).
To bring you up to speed, here’s the full synopsis: On a day that started like any other, Mia had everything: a loving family, an adoring boyfriend and a bright future full of music. Suddenly, a family drive on a snowy day changes everything. In an instant, almost all of that is taken from her. Caught between life and death, Mia spends one critical day contemplating a future that is now more unknowable than ever. Is love enough to keep her here? Tragic but ultimately hopeful, this is a romantic, riveting and uplifting story about music, life and love.
The 17-year-old actress (who’s in pretty much everything) recently spoke to MTV News about her latest project saying, “The readers are very serious about me and Adam, and they really need that palpable relationship, and for me, I just want to go in there and create that relationship with Jamie. It’s that young love, and you have to capture that feeling.”
If all goes well with the flick, perhaps we’ll get to see the novel’s sequel, Where She Went, on the big screen too. Pretty please? If I Stay hits theaters on August 22.
