Effie Gray: Once Again, Dakota Fanning Proves She’s All Grown Up
She may’ve started in the acting industry at the age of 5 (3 if you count her time in local theater), but Dakota Fanning is no longer taking on those young roles. As evidenced by basically all of her characters since the end of The Twilight Saga, including her stints in Very Good Girls and The Last of Robin Hood, the 20-year-old has reached the point in her career where maturity takes precedence. Her portrayal as the lead in Effie Gray further proves it…
Alongside a bunch of British actors, many from the Harry Potter franchise (Emma Thompson, Robbie Coltrane & Julie Walters), Dakota utilizes her best English accent as the eponymous heroine of the film, which takes a look at the mysterious relationship between Victorian art critic John Ruskin and his teenage bride, Effie Gray. Yes, though we said she’s maturing, Dakota plays a teen bride. But, trust us, once you watch the trailer, you’ll understand what we mean.
Effie Gray hits theaters in the U.S. this coming November. Until then, watch the trailer above!
