Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” Music Video Is The Most Confusing Thing You’ll See All Day

By  |

Ed Sheeran’s music video for his next single “Don’t” is finally out, but we’re still very confused. As most of you probably remember, “Don’t” is a song off Ed’s album, x, that’s said to be about Ellie Goulding cheating on him with Niall Horan. But don’t expect the video to answer your song-meaning questions up front — instead, former So You Think You Can Dance star Phillip Chbeeb dances his way through various stages of life as the track plays behind him.

Although one’s first reaction to the the Sia “Chandelier” inspired video will probably be confusion, when you really analyze it things start to get clearer. The man in the music video starts off sleeping on the streets only to dance his way into other peoples’ worlds, which is safe to assume represents Ed’s own journey.

Ed’s not the type of artist to put out conventional music videos (cough “Sing” cough), so we’re not very surprised that “Don’t” isn’t a typical sing-into-the-camera vid. Don’t get us wrong — the dancing is insanely amazing — but it’s definitely the kind of thing you have to watch a few times before you can start processing it.

We gave you our opinion on what we think the “Don’t” music video represents, and now it’s your turn! Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
