Celebs Take The #TalktoMe Pledge to Help Prevent Suicide
September is Suicide Prevention month and celebrities are doing their part to raise awareness for this cause. Today (September 10) specifically is World Suicide Prevention Day and some famous faces are teaming up with The Trevor Project to help prevent suicide. Stars like Kat Graham and YouTube star Lucas Cruikshank are helping to spread the message of talking to someone when you're going through a tough time, and listening to those in need.
The Trevor Project's #TalktoMe is raising awareness by having these YouTubers and celebrities take the pledge. By taking the #TalktoMe pledge they are agreeing to be a person that anyone can talk to when they are in need of support. The Trevor Project created this program to help prevent suicide among the youth and especially those who are in the LGBTQ community. Check out this video above to see how #TalktoMe works and how the celebrities are involved.
In case you didn't know, The Trevor Project was created in 1998 in order to raise awareness for suicide prevention. It offers crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth in need. If you're ever in need please call The Trevor Lifeline at 1-866-488-7368.
You can do your part to help raise awareness too! Go HERE to take the pledge to become the person anyone can come to when they need to talk. Also, if you feel as though someone is considering suicide, please tell someone you trust.
