‘Bitter Harvest’ Exclusive Movie Clip: “Hold Me,” Starring Max Irons & Samantha Barks
Max Irons doesn’t have the best of luck when it comes to on-screen relationships. In 2013’s The Host, the love of his life’s body is taken over by another being, so when he’s all like, “Melanie, I love you,” she’s like, “Who the eff is Melanie?” In 2014’s The Riot Club, featuring every hot British actor, including Sam Claflin & Douglas Booth, Max’s character is forced to watch as his ~friends~ humiliate his girlfriend by offering her money in exchange for oral sex and assaulting her. And you can bet that his relationship in his latest film follows the trend.
In Bitter Harvest, the 31-year-old hottie is “caught in the ravages of Joseph Stalin‘s genocidal policies against Ukraine in the 1930s,” along with his lady love, played by Samantha Barks (Les Miserables). Here’s the official synopsis: “As Stalin advances the ambitions of the burgeoning Soviet Union, a young artist named Yuri (Max Irons) battles to survive famine, imprisonment and torture to save his childhood sweetheart Natalka (Samantha Barks) from the Holodomor, the death-by-starvation program which ultimately killed millions of Ukrainians.”
Bitter Harvest hits theaters on February 24. Until then, watch this exclusive clip from the film, titled “Hold Me,” to get a taste of what’s to come from Max’s new on-screen romance (and heartbreak).
