Ariana Grande Covers Whitney Houston’s “I Believe In You & Me” (VIDEO)

Is Ariana Grande on ‘the way’ (hehe) to becoming the next ‘It’ diva? After the release of her single/music video with Mac Miller, the former Victorious star has had her share of comparisons to Mariah Carey.

She tells Digital Spy, “[Mariah’s] an inspiration — she’s the greatest female vocalist, so it was definitely a compliment. Mariah and Whitney Houston were my goddesses growing up.” (The latter makes sense, since that’s who she covers in her latest YouTube video.)

As for the comparisons to Selena Gomez, Ari is so not having it. In an interview with Yahoo!, she says, “I don’t really see [the comparison]. We both started out in children’s television, I think we share that in common and we are both doing music. But we are really nothing alike… If you look at us and compare our sounds, we aren’t that much alike.

Do you think Ariana has what it takes to be the next Mariah or Whitney? Can you see any resemblance between her musical abilities and Selena Gomez’s? Watch & listen to her take on Whit’s “I Believe In You & Me” above, then tell us your thoughts in the comments!
