Watch the International Movie Trailer for The 5th Wave, Starring Chloe Grace Moretz!

When it comes to YA book-to-movie adaptations, we know what we’re talking about. The Hunger Games was done brilliantly (though, obviously, there were some necessary changes involved when adapted for the big screen); The Maze Runner was better than expected (though, again, there were some changes involved); The Mortal Instruments, Beautiful Creatures and Vampire Academy, well… there’s a reason those three didn’t get sequel films. Whomp, whomp. However, no offense to any of the other young adult flicks, we may’ve just found the best adaptation of all time: The 5th Wave.

While it’s a tough argument to make, considering the movie hasn’t even been released, the recently-released international sneak peek footage is enough to know that we can expect all sorts of epic scenes because, as far as we can tell, it stays very true to the Rick Yancey novel, which is quite rare when translating to a script.

In this present-day journey, “four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Cassie (Chloë Grace Moretz) is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother,” with the help of Evan Walker (newbie Alex Roe).

The 5th Wave hits theaters on January 16, 2016, but you can watch the first trailer, starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Alex Roe, Nick Robinson, Liev Schreiber and more above!
