Description: what do you think ? why it is a taboo ? on Monday, 26 May 2008 Ex-US President Jimmy Carter has said Israel has at least 150 atomic weapons in its arsenal. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7420573.stm none of the major news and media sites have found the revelation to be a mainpage worthy story , while on their websites they have stupid news on mainpage they decided to bury this one between the hundreds of not important stories. why the Israel atomic arsenal should never be questioned ? digg: http://digg.com/world_news/Israel_has_150_nuclear_weapons some of the best comments i saw as a reaction to this story: 1-So a country that's willing to go to all out war an kill thousands of people over 2 soldiers has 150 nuclear bombs. Yeah I feed REAL safe. 2-Wow...150 nuke and that on just 22,000 kmР’Р†?! This is Insane! If even just one of them would explode Chernobyl-Style it would probably cause a gigantic chain reaction. This is absolutely irresponsible! 3-the most volatile country in the middle east has over a hundred nuclear weapons, and yet we're ready to go to war with one of the most stable to prevent them from even getting one? 4-israel refuses to sign the NPT and refuses inspections, yet still receives billions of tax payer dollars from the US. 5-Israel has nuclear weapons and Israel believes in "pre-emptive attacks", therefore Israel is a very de-stabilizing force in the Middle East. Middle East "detente" can only be achieved if there is a Muslim country or countries with nuclear retaliatory capability in the case of an Israeli "pre-emptive" nuclear strike. Is there any wonder that Iran wants nuclear weapons? Unfortunately the best assurance that nation "A" won't attack nation "B' is for nation "B" to have the capability to inflict the same damage to nation "A". 6-This surely shows the peaceful intentions towards its neighbors.
