It’s April 25, which, if you’ve been paying any kind of attention, means that we’re in for our first taste of The Originals — tonight!

The latest episode of The Vampire Diaries will serve as the backdoor pilot for the potential spin-off, led by the remaining members of the Original family of vamps, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt). But before the show airs, let the baby sister of the clan reveal the juicy deets.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Claire Holt says of The Originals, “It’s a completely different dynamic. It’s a different mix, therefore it’s a different story. I think the fans are still going to be able to get what they love from The Vampire Diaries and hopefully they’ll be able to take something new too.”

While we’ve briefly seen what Klaus’ plans are — New Orleans, here we come! — in the first promo, Rebekah’s plans differ slightly: “In The Originals, she’s faced with the decision to follow her brother or stay in Mystic Falls. She’s always been loyal to Klaus and she values family above all else, and I think it’s a really hard one for her because she has been betrayed by him, she is disappointed in him and is hurting still. That journey in this pilot will revolve around her decision to follow him, help him and remain loyal to the family or leave them behind.”

Of course, Claire couldn’t skate by without revealing TVD tidbits as well. She says of the Season 4 finale, “A lot of characters are involved, a lot of history and there’s a shocker at the end as well. It’ll tie up loose ends regarding the cure, where the characters go and Rebekah’s journey as well.”

The backdoor pilot for The Originals airs tonight at 8pm ET on The CW. Will you be tuning in? Tell us in the comments below, or on our Vampire Diaries message board!
