The Must-See First Acting Jobs of the The Vampire Diaries Cast
The Vampire Diaries is back in full swing, hitting us with new episodes every Thursday night starting at 8p on The CW. So, for today’s edition of Throwback Thursday, we’re looking at the first gigs of the TVD cast:
Nina Dobrev — Supposedly, the brunette beauty is one of the “teenage Zytrate addicts” in the 2006 Repo! The Genetic Opera short. Can you spot her?
Paul Wesley — Before his six-episode stint on Guiding Light began in July 1999, Paul Wasilewski appeared on one ep of another soap opera, Another World. He was not quite 17.
Ian Somerhalder — Sadly, a clip from Ian’s first gig, as I.Q. on The Big Easy, doesn’t seem to exist on the Internet. (Boo!) But at least there’s a still:
To get your Ian fill, here’s a snippet from Now and Again in 1999, his second confirmed gig:
Kat Graham — Kat’s first movie was actually a big hit back in ’98. She played one of the twins’ (both played by Lindsay Lohan) friends at camp in… The Parent Trap!
Candice Accola — Two years prior to the pilot episode of The Vampire Diaries, Candice played the female lead in a movie called Pirate Camp. (Don’t worry, we’d never heard of it either until researching for this.)
Steven R. McQueen — Technically, SRM’s first gig was on an episode of a TV show called Threshold in September ’05. But, since that doesn’t appear to be anywhere on the web (grr), here’s a clip from his seven-episode run on Everwood, which began exactly one month later:
Zach Roerig — Besides his portrayal as a rando bike messenger on one episode of Law & Order in 2004, Zach’s first gig was on As the World Turns starting in January 2005. He remained on the show for a whopping 275 episodes!
Michael Trevino — What does Michael have in common with Zac Efron (apart from having hot bods, obvi)? They both guest-starred on Summerland with Jesse McCartney!
