10 Highly-Anticipated YA Novels Slated to Drop in 2016
The 5th Wave is one of the most highly-anticipated movies of the year, right there with the upcoming additions to the Divergent, X-Men and other Marvel movie franchises. So it makes perfect sense why The Last Star, the last installment in Rick Yancey‘s The 5th Wave series in one of the most highly-anticipated books of the year as well.
Sure, it’s pretty much over for trilogies like The Maze Runner and The Hunger Games — unless there are more prequels/spin-offs — but it ain’t over for all YA novels! There’re still fresh ones waiting in line to become your next favorite reads. At the top of the year, YA readers’ appetites have been satisfied with the release of two super-cool novels. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken and Truthwitch by Susan Dennard, both of which dropped on January 5. While you should definitely add those to your list, these 10 books are worthy of your 2016 must-reads, too:
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

With a title like Glass Sword, it sounds like there'll be a LOT of kneeling and bleeding in Volume 2 of the Red Queen series. Sooner than you think, it'll be time to fall head over heels... not onto a glass sword or anything, but into this dystopian phenom.
The story picks up at Mare Barrow's battle between choosing a good or evil path all because of Prince Maven, who was her friend. He betrayed her, like the mean-spirited person he is, but hopefully Mare can use her superpowers to lead the greatest rebellion ever against him.
