7 Pairs of TV Siblings That Actually Hated Each Other in Real Life
September 1, 2018
On TV sets, castmates usually become one big happy family. Considering they have to spend almost every waking moment together, it makes sense that the crew would get close. Just look at the
stars, for example — they’re Riverdale BFFS on TV and IRL! And when the actors play on-screen siblings, they can form an . Well… sometimes. especially tight bond
A lot of small-screen sibs have become
real-life best friends, but not everyone feels the brotherly (or sisterly) love. These TV duos might pretend to be tight on camera, but they actually hated each other in real life!

Lucas Grabeel and Ashley Tisdale
The cast of
High School Musical was definitely not all in this together. Despite being total BFFs on the small screen for the first flick in the HSM trilogy, Ashley Tisdale revealed that she and her on-screen twin, Lucas Grabeel, actually hated each other when the cameras turned off!
When the two reunited in 2017 to sing the
HSM classic "What I've Been Looking For" on Ashley's YouTube channel, they reminisced about their days as Sharpay and Ryan. "We were not close," Ash explained. "We were not good friends, let's be honest. We hated each other, I'm not kidding."
"We did not get off on the best foot," Lucas added.
"I think I was definitely a lot like Sharpay and was like who is this person?" she continued. "After we wrapped, though, I've always had a love for you. You are literally like my twin brother." Awwww!

Jake T. Austin and Selena Gomez
Things seemed to be just peachy between
Selena Gomez and all of her Wizards of Waverly Place co-stars, but like the theme song says, "Everything is not what it seems."
After leaving the Disney sitcom, Sel starred in the R-rated movie
Spring Breakers. It was definitely a big jump from a family-friendly show like Wizards, and the actress even told her younger fans not to watch the film.
Jake T. Austin didn't like that. He shaded his former TV sister with a tweet that read, "When an artist's definition of 'growing with their fans' is creating content they aren't even allowed to see…"
We're not quite sure what happened between the two that left JTA feeling some type of way, but it appears they've both gotten over the rift. When Selena had kidney surgery last year, Jake wrote her a
heartfelt message on Instagram and said she was "one of the strongest people I know."

Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano
Shannen Doherty isn't just known for her TV roles — her on-set feuds are pretty iconic, too. One of those famous fights started with her co-star, Alyssa Milano, on Charmed.
Shannen and the third witch sister,
Holly Marie Combs, had been friends for years before the show, which caused the set to "feel like high school," according to Alyssa.
"We definitely didn't get along," she told
. "Shannen and I are very different people, and I think it's almost like a roommate. If you spend that much time with someone and there are differences anyway, you're not always going to get along." TV Guide
Things got so messy between the two that eventually the showrunners decided one had to go. Shannen ended up being the one to leave, and
Rose McGowan replaced her.

Brady Bunch crew went through a whole lot of drama, both on screen and off. Lots of rumors have swirled about the TV fam over the years, but one of the most shocking was what reportedly went down between Jan ( Eve Plumb) and Marcia ( Maureen McCormick.)
Maureen claimed in a tell-all book that she and Eve developed an intimate relationship during the course of filming. Eve denied the relationship and
Susan Olsen, who played little sister Cindy, told that was the source of the rift. Fox News
"She got tired of Maureen gaining attention for herself by regurgitating the tiresome and false insinuations that they had a lesbian affair," she explained.
But others claim the two NEVER got along.
"The problems between them go back decades," a source told the
. "They've never liked each other." New York Post
So it's unclear when exactly the feud started, but there's no doubt that it's still going on today. Back in 2010, the entire cast was supposed to reunite for a reunion special. But when Maureen and Eve found out they were both scheduled to appear, they refused to attend and the reunion was canceled.

Melissa Gilbert and Melissa Sue Anderson
Little House on the Prairie was everybody's favorite family show back in the day, but things weren't always so wholesome off camera. Alison Arngrim played the bratty Nellie Oleson, but the actress revealed that Melissa Sue Anderson was the real mean girl.
Melissa Gilbert and I wound up bonding and becoming best friends like sisters, and Melissa Sue became sort of the 'frenemy,'" Alison told the hosts of Foxnews.com's . "So we were with her all day, but I guess she was like, 'I'm not hanging out with you two.' She was just sort of appalled by Melissa Gilbert and I." The Strategy Room

Tracey Gold and Kirk Cameron
The cast of the ABC hit sitcom
Growing Pains experienced some growing pains of its own with the show's breakout star, Kirk Cameron. Alan Thicke, who played the patriarch of the TV family, admitted that Kirk grew distant from the rest of the cast as production advanced.
"In the early days of
Growing Pains, we communed all the time," he told the . "Nobody would ever have a party without the whole gang being there. And that did change. Kirk went through a slow withdrawal — a fade to black." Los Angeles Times
Tracey Gold, who played Kirk's on-screen sister, was a little more candid.
"At the end, Kirk had drifted away from the show," she said. "When he got married during a summer hiatus up in New York, none of us were invited. He had pretty much made it clear he needed his separation from us."
Tracey decided to return the favor by not inviting Kirk to her wedding. "If I'd invited him, he probably wouldn't have come," she explained.

Matthew Rhys and Balthazar Getty

Matthew Rhys and Bathazar Getty might have played brothers on TV, but there wasn't much brotherly love between the two IRL. Matt used to date Sienna Miller, so when Balthazar's affair with the actress became public, things got real awkward.
Balthazar reportedly rubbed
all of his Brothers and Sisters co-stars the wrong way, even before the affair. Sources told that the actor often showed up late to set, forgot his lines and even made one of his fellow castmates cry. Yikes! E! News
