TV High School Sweethearts That Put a Ring On It

Even though Valentine’s Day is over, love lingers in the air. So in honor of new relationships and long romances, and, ya know, the fact that this whole Finchel wedding thing is really happening, we’ve put together a list of our favorite TV character couples that dated in high school and decided to take things to the next level and get engaged. While some may say they’re too young for such a commitment, these happy couples dare to disagree. Do you?

Ricky and Amy have been through it all on The Secret of an American Teenager. After having a baby together and getting into a mess of drama with each other’s previous relationships, Ricky decided he wants to spend the rest of his life with Amy. Popping the question on graduation night, these two high school lovers are now dedicated to one another more than ever. Now let’s just see if they’ll actually make it to the altar…

Our favorite sarcastic couple, Seth and Summer from The OC, had an on-again, off-again relationship. Dating in high school, breaking up, dating in college, breaking up again…it all gets pretty confusing. Even their engagement, which was triggered by a pregnancy scare, was on, then off, then on again. These two eventually do get hitched.

Nathan may of had false pretenses when he first started hanging out with Haley on One Tree Hill, but the basketball star soon realized the feelings he was developing couldn’t be ignored. The power couple hardly had time to bask in their engagement, as they got married right away. Then came baby Jamie!

Rachel and Finn, everyone’s favorite couple on Glee, are engaged! A heart-felt proposal from Finn made us all swoon, but is the couple moving too fast? Rachel’s dads and Finn’s parents are among the many that think so. Only time will tell if the two are destined to tie the knot.

How perfect were Matt and Julie on Friday Night Lights? The coach’s daughter and the star quarterback dated throughout high school, with a few hiccups a long the way. Once graduation and college came around, the two fizzled out and our hearts were broken. Reminding us that true love does exist, Matt got down on one knee in front of The Alamo Freeze and asked Julie to marry him. Swoon.

Topanga and Cory from Boy Meets World are TV’s staple high school sweethearts. We watched them grow up, argue, cry, and laugh together. On the night of their high school graduation, Topanga took the reigns and asked Cory for his hand in marriage. So much girl power!

Which couple do you think had the cutest proposal? Is it a good idea to get engaged in high school? Think Rachel and Finn will get married? Tell us in the comments!
