I was never one to worry about germs. I mean, when I was a kid, I once picked up a lollipop off of the floor and licked it, even when it passed the five-second rule (although in my defense, that lollipop was really good. I didn’t want to waste it). But now, it’s a completely different story, because I actually get paranoid about things like touching garbage lids and eating from food trucks on the street. I wouldn’t say that I’ve turned into a full-fledged germaphobe, but still, I now understand why it’s so important to avoid spreading germs (and, of course, why eating food off the floor probably isn’t a good idea).
