All the Ladies The Weeknd Has Been Romantically Linked to in the Past
Lately, it’s starting to feel like The Weeknd, a.k.a. Abel Tesfaye, is everywhere. Whether he’s slaying on the red carpet with one of his A-list GFs, winning Grammy Awards, or releasing songs that will not leave our heads — “Can’t Feel My Face” is still hanging around — the 28-year-old musician is just popping up right and left. But the funny thing is, compared to most of our fave Hollywood hotties, he’s actually pretty new to the scene. It wasn’t that long ago that the word “weekend” didn’t make us think of anything other than the best days of the week.
In fact, it was only five years ago that Abel made his first tour of the U.S. with a 2012 Coachella appearance. And even then, he wasn’t really on our radar until his song “Live For” the next year with Drake. But ever since then, he’s been taking the music industry by storm — but his stage presence and catchy tunes aren’t all we know and love him for. The Canadian crooner is also commonly spotted with some of our fave Hollywood leading ladies.
The “Starboy” singer didn’t even really enter the dating scene until a certain Victoria’s Secret model came into his life in 2015, but since the end of that first relationship, he’s been busy. It’s hard to imagine what his ex-girlfriend list is going to look like in a couple more years. But it makes sense! Besides being talented and nice to look at, Abel sounds like a really sweet BF. He’s been known to show off his S.O.s on social media, take them on envy-inducing trips around the world, and even specifically scheduled his tour dates around a certain someone’s kidney surgery. Sounds to us like there’s a real softy hiding under all that hair.
Abel's first Hollywood relationship was a long one. After initially meeting with 18-year-old model Bella for a job, the two began dating and were together for a year and a half. They kept their relationship pretty casual for a while, with the 28-year-old musician even telling the New York Times, "I don't know, to be honest with you. I don't think so. Maybe," when asked if he was in love with his GF.
But after being spotted in public a bunch, the celeb couple finally made their red carpet debut at the 2016 Grammy Awards, which was followed by a few more before they took a trip to Tokyo together. But just when they'd hit peak #goals, Bella and Abel suddenly called it quits — right on time for them to share the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show stage together.
That could have been mad awkward, but they both acted profesh — even though the "Starboy" singer had already been spotted with another dark-haired beauty.
