Family Vloggers Quitting YouTube After 7 Years of Making Videos

Samantha Schuerman has been on YouTube for a long time. The 32-year-old started her beauty channel seven years ago and created a vlog channel called The Schuerman Show shortly after. The blonde, her husband, Jay, and their two young children, Phoenix and Lily, put their lives online almost every single day from that point on. While Sam says she has enjoyed documenting her kids’ milestones on the Internet, she feels that it’s time to make a major change and stop vlogging for good.

“The last thing I ever want to do is disappoint the people I care about, but I have been really, really, really, unhappy vlogging,” the YouTuber explained.

Sam says she finds herself “dreading having to vlog,” because it makes her uncomfortable and the fact that so many people judge her gives her a lot of anxiety.

She continued, “I want to be able to do whatever I want and not have to worry about what other people are gonna think about my day. It causes so much anxiety.”

The mother of two will still be making videos on her beauty channel (SamanthaSchuerman) because that’s her passion, and she’s even considering showing some special “vloggable moments” online in the future.

“I’m not sure if we will continue to upload every now and then for special occasions like birthdays or things like that,” she wrote in the description of the announcement video. “I haven’t 100% decided. I will still be filming those moments for ourselves to capture the special moments and I wouldn’t mind sharing with you all, but I just don’t want to share the day to day lives that we have been sharing and that everyone has gotten so used to watching. I don’t want to promise anything, because I’d like to just see where this next journey takes us. I still am not sure what I will do with this channel or if I will do anything with it at all but I will still be on my beauty channel like normal, so I hope to see you there. Thank you again for understanding. Love you!! xx”

We’re definitely going to miss the Schuermans, but at least there are other family vloggers that can fill the hole in our heart.
