‘The Fault In Our Stars’ Author John Green Will Cameo In the Film
John Green's best-selling novel The Fault In Our Stars is coming to life via a big screen adaptation, and it's been confirmed that he'll be getting in on some of the fun. When asked by his hometown paper — The Indianapolis Star — as to whether he'd be appearing in the film, the prolific author simply replied "yes."
Apparently, the film's producers and the director Josh Boone reached out to him to gauge his interest, and it's safe to say he's down for the cause. In case you haven't heard of it, TFiOS, centers on a 16-year-old cancer patient named Hazel (Shailene Woodley) who falls for a boy named Augustus (played by her Divergent co-star Ansel Elgort) in a support group as they both deal with their illness.
It's not confirmed what scene he'll be popping up in, or if he'll even have a speaking part. We don't want to give too much away — but for what it's worth — we think he should be on hand for the scene at Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam. Just saying.
TFiOs begins filming on Monday August 26 (!) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It also stars Laura Dern as Hazel's mom, and Nat Wolff as Gus' best friend, Isaac. It should hit theaters either in 2014 or 2015.
