The Fault in Our Stars Just Came Out… But It’s Already Getting a Remake!
Fasten your seatbelts, Nerdfighters — John Green's epic novel, The Fault in Our Stars, is about to be adapted for the big screen AGAIN. That's right, while you (and the rest of the world) were under the impression that the beautiful story of Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters' love would begin and end with Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort's portrayals of the beloved characters, movie buffs decided it was already time to remake the film… via Bollywood, that is.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mumbai-based Fox Star Studios will adapt the flick in Hindi. CEO Vijay Singh says, "We think the story will have an emotional [connection] with Indian audiences. The original English version was released here a couple of weeks ago and is still running. The film has done a business of about $1 million. We had actually thought of adapting it locally even before the film was released here."
So far, the exact details,"in terms of which director will helm the project along with casting details and when it can go into production," are still being worked out.
