WTF? A Part of The Fault in Our Stars Has Gone Missing in Amsterdam

By  |

Fans of The Fault in Our Stars, keep your eyes peeled — our beloved bench as gone missing! Yes, the green bench on which Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort) and Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) sat and talked and kissed and cried has gone AWOL.

According to the Associated Press (via Huffington Post), "Suspects in the disappearance include the city itself, which may have simply taken the old bench away for repairs, as well as neighbors unhappy with extra tourist traffic, vandals or even fans wanting to own a small piece of film history." Say it isn't so, TFiOS fanatics!

City spokesman Stephan van der Hoek says of the disappearance, "It's a bit embarrassing, because we do keep good track of them, but it's gone all right," adding "Keep your eyes on eBay."

Supposedly, the city plans to replace it within a few weeks, but it's still not the same if you're planning on heading to the Netherlands on vacation to sit exactly where John Green book-turned-movie characters sat. Not cool, guys. Not cool.
