While some movies based on TV shows are extremely well received (21 Jump Street, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, etc) there are those that just miss the mark. Take for example, The Lone Ranger.

The 2013 flick was based on the popular TV series of the same name, and with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer stepping into the lead roles, you’d think the movie would kill it at the box office, right? Well, not so much. The movie earned about $90 million at the box office which sounds like a lot, but it cost Disney $215 million to actually make the movie, so that’s what we call a flop.
