Taylor Swift Files Restraining Order Against Another Stalker
Living the life of a celebrity may seem all-around glam, but time after time that theory is proven wrong. Not only are the rich and famous under constant scrutiny, they also are faced with fears that a majority of us normal folk aren't — like the threat of a stalker. The latest star to be struck by this particular fear is Taylor Swift.
According to TMZ, the 24-year-old "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer recently filed a restraining order against a man named Timothy Sweet, who believes he's married to her. Since January 2011, he's "sent a torrent of emails, letters and social media posts professing his love for her." Here are some of the messages:
"If anyone in Taylor Swift's family gets killed, it is not my fault."
"My wife, Taylor Swift (Sweet) and I live in Beverly Hills. I am in love with her. In conclusion, we treat each other with dignity and respect. I will carry a gun to protect her the rest of my life.""Dearest Taylor, I'll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage. Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State. Message from YOUR Presidential Candidate."
Disturbingly, members of the Twittersphere who clearly dislike the country crooner find this to be hilarious, tweeting comments like, "Taylor swift has a crazy man stalker… This guy has horrible taste in women" and "Taylor Swift's stalker was ordered to stay 100 yards away so he doesnt disturb her while she writes 200 songs about her ex boyfriend." Wow, just… wow.
This isn't the first ordeal Taylor's had to face like this; back in May 2013, a 22-year-old man from Chicago swam "roughly 2 miles round trip in cold water" in hopes of finding her at her home in Rhode Island. Instead, he was taken into custody.
Here are five secrets even Taylor Swift's biggest fans didn't know about her songs:
