7 Times Taylor Swift Contradicted Herself with Her Song Lyrics
Over the past decade, Taylor Swift‘s words of wisdom have helped people get over crappy breakups, find best friends and SO much more. But while the 27-year-old preaches certain things in her music, she often says things IRL that totally contradict the lyrics that so many people hold dear.
“I write songs that are like diary entries,” the “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” crooner has said in the past. But while she takes her real-life experiences and turns them into tunes that resonate with millions, we understand that there is definitely a story-telling aspect of her music. Not EVERYTHING she sings about can be taken as 100 percent fact, but there are definitely things that are pretty big contradictions to what she preaches in her everyday life.
When she used her songs as weapons
She says: "I've never thought about songwriting as a weapon."
She sings: "So go and tell your friends that I'm obsessive and crazy, that's fine I'll tell mine that you're gay."
When a guy dates Taylor Swift, they know there's a target on their backs. The 27-year-old, however, doesn't think that's the case, even though she's gotten pretty savage about her exes in her music in the past.
