Taylor Swift Calls John Mayer “Presumptuous” in ‘Glamour’
She has a Red track hitting iTunes every week until its release — like “Begin Again” — and is rumored to play musician Joni Mitchell in her next movie, yet there’s still no sign of Taylor Swift slowing down any time soon. So it should come as no surprise that Taylor’s the newest cover girl for Glamour magazine. In the November 2012 issue, Tay spills on literally every detail you want to know; from her friendships with Selena Gomez and Emma Stone to her ex John Mayer and even to her relationship with Conor Kennedy, she’s not holding back on anything…
When asked about the significance of having girlfriends, Taylor says, “They are so important in my life right now. I’m the kind of girl who needs to tell her friends everything. I’ve developed this really close-knit group of girls. Two of my close friends are bandmates. My other close friends are Ashley, Claire, Diana, Emma [Stone], and Selena [Gomez]… I met Emma when I was 17, and I met Selena when I was 18. So they’ve experienced all of this [fame] with me, and they’ve also experienced their own amazing success, and somehow through all of it, we’ve stayed close.”
But the interview wasn’t all giggles. When Glamour revealed that John Mayer was “humiliated” by Tay’s song, “Dear John,” Taylor exclaimed, “How presumptuous! I never disclose who my songs are about.” And did want to hear any more about her ex’s comments. However, she did slightly delve into a different relationship of hers. When asked, point blank, about her dating life with Conor Kennedy, she admits, “I don’t talk about my personal life in great detail. I write about it in my songs, and I feel like you can share enough about your life in your music to let people know what you’re going through.”
