Who Taylor Swift May Target in Her New Music Off Her Reputation Album
Taylor Swift‘s sixth studio album, Reputation, will arrive on November 10, and from the sounds of it, she isn’t holding anything back!
In a new report from Us Weekly, one fan spilled some super juicy details about the release, saying that the album “chronicles her feuds” with those who have done her wrong. Yeah… we can think of a few people who probably made the cut!
According to the report, Tay’s ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris, will be referenced “across multiple songs, somewhat cryptically, but also obvious.” He shouldn’t be too surprised, though! Just last year, Calvin took to Twitter to call out Taylor and her team for trying to make it look like she was the one that was fully responsible for the success behind his hit song, “This is What You Came For.”
Calvin tweeted at the time, “I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do.” Following that up with, “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy, but I’m not that guy, sorry.”
The tweets came as a shock to fans because Calvin initially tweeted out that his and Taylor’s split was amicable, writing, “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect”. Of course, Calvin tweeted that before the news that Taylor co-wrote “This Is What You Came For” came out, AND the news that she’d swiftly moved on from him to Tom Hiddleston came out. That must have felt like a serious double burn for the DJ at the time.
Another celeb we’re expecting to be subtly called out on the album is Katy Perry, despite the fact that Katy insisted she wanted to end her feud with Taylor while she was promoting her album, Witness, earlier this year. Considering Taylor’s first single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” seems to be ALL about her ongoing feud with Kanye West, we can definitely picture Tay digging up some old bones and throwing some MAJOR shade Katy’s way as well…
But who WON’T be referenced on Reputation? Us Weekly‘s insiders are saying that Taylor’s current boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, will hardly be mentioned — probably because she’s just so in love with him… or, maybe, it’s because most (if not all) of the tunes were written prior to the relationship.
Other than that, there’s not too much more to share at the moment, but the insiders did make it clear that Taylor is “definitely coming for the Grammys.” Reputation is just one of the most highly anticipated albums due out in the near future, so it’s looking like competition will be FIERCE!
