Taylor Swift Fan Dies Just Days After Singer Makes Her Dreams Come True

Twitter (@taylorswift13)In case you didn't know, Taylor Swift topped Do Something's annual list of Celebs Gone Good, taking the #1 spot for her charitable work in 2013. And now, we see a clear reason why…

On December 20, proud T.Swift fan Delaney "Laney" Ann Brown turned 8 years old. However, rather than celebrate as most children do on their special day, she attempted to cross off as many items on her bucket list as possible since she suffered from Leukemia. One of those items: speak to the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer.

Courtesy of Make-A-Wish America, the young girl's dreams came true. According to the Team Laney Facebook page, "Laney got to fulfill another one of bucket list items… to talk to Taylor Swift!!! Laney was so nervous to talk to her because she is such a "famous celebrity." I was actually worried that when Taylor Facetimed her that she would be too scared to talk, but Taylor was fabulous!! She really engaged Laney in conversation. Laney lit up and had a huge smile on her face. I can't thank Taylor enough for taking time out from her family to make Laney's birthday very memorable. We will hold that memory in our hearts forever."

As momentous as the surprise message was for Laney, she succumbed to her cancer just days later — on Christmas: "My heart breaks right now. Our little angel on earth earned her pink glittery angel wings in heaven. She took her last breath at home in her bed at 3:10 surrounded by all her family and friends. I miss her so much already." Rest in the sweetest peace, Laney.
