Fans are Mad AF That Taylor Swift Congratulated Diana Ross at the AMAs
The 2017 American Music Awards just ended, and we have officially lost all chill. In the past three hours, we have seen Selena Gomez debut her new hair color, Justin Bieber was caught Instagram-stalking Selena and Shawn Mendes won his first American Music Award and admitted to being single… It gets even crazier when we add in all the highly anticipated performances and legendary wins!
Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross did an excellent job hosting the night, showing up in iconic outfits and having the perfect commentary. If you didn’t know, Tracee is the daughter of the LEGENDARY Diana Ross. Diana is the reason why we have songs like “I’m Coming Out,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Endless Love” among many, many others. (Sorry, you’re going to have those songs stuck in your heads now.)
The whole night was leading up to Diana being recognized for her talents and being awarded the American Music Lifetime Achievement Award. Throughout the show, some of the most well-known celebrities appeared on screen to congratulate Diana on this massive success. Even President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama popped in on the evening to tell the world how much they love Diana.
Although Taylor Swift is busy celebrating her Reputation success, she even made an appearance by telling her own story of how Diana has changed her life. It was definitely a surprise to see the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer, and while some fans were thrilled to see her, others were definitely NOT.

While some fans expressed how much they love that Taylor is all about supporting other artists…

… many couldn’t believe that out of all the musicians in the world, Taylor’s message was played on air.

Watching @taylorswift13 congratulating @DianaRoss is laughable. Aretha, Gladys, Patti, Dolly, Celine, Cher, Stevie, Barry may congratulate. They are her peers. You, darlin', can only thank her for paving the way & praise her for her talents. Period. Have several seats ma'am.

Honestly, we’re just thankful to be living in the same era as Diana and feel #blessed to have been able to witness her incredible performance tonight.
