The Authors of Two Favorite YA Series are Having a Baby with Each Other!
This is so exciting, guys! Following a fantastic 2016, filled with book releases on both of their parts, authors Tahereh Mafi and Ransom Riggs announced that they’re due to have a baby together this year — and really soon, too, we might add. (Tahereh’s 30 weeks along!) The soon-to-be parents took to their social media pages to publicly declare the news:

“A bit of news — Tahereh is expecting!” the 38-year-old author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children wrote on Instagram. “Can’t wait to meet our little sequel in a couple of months.”
He and the 28-year-old author of the Shatter Me series, who married each other in 2013, have barely slowed down since they entered the world of penning novels. Ransom kicked off his career with 2009’s The Sherlock Holmes Handbook, though, he’s most known for his Miss Peregrine works, continuing the franchise with last year’s companion piece, Tales of the Peculiar. The film version of MPHfPC, directed by Tim Burton, hit theaters this past September.
As for Tahereh, she’s been constantly on the move since 2011, when Shatter Me was released. The book has gone on to become a successful YA trilogy, complete with a couple novellas as well. Film rights to Shatter Me have been purchased by 20th Century Fox films. (We’re still waiting on further details on that front, though.) Her most recent work, Furthermore, was released in 2016.

THE PLOT: There’s something familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.
Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, Luce has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret... even if it kills her.
