‘Wizards Return’ Poster; Selena Gomez Covers “Cry Me a River” (VIDEO)
Last week, a leather-clad Selena Gomez was pictured on top of what’s meant to be the Leaning Tower of Pisa for the upcoming Wizards of Waverly Place special. This time around, the singer/actress is portrayed in a different light in the first-look poster for The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex.
At first, you’ll probably notice white streak-haired Alex (who we guessed was on the ‘Evil’ side) with her sinister stare. Inside the whimsical ball in her hand, the other Alex; the one you’re probably used to seeing on WoWP; the real Alex, looking worried. And trapped. It’s already looking like some good stuff, right?
When we spoke to Selena about the show, she says in our interview, “The episode I completely fell in love with. I mean, we’re on a whole different setting that you’ve never seen the Russos in and we’re doing things that we’ve never done before. I’m excited about it. I think [fans] will enjoy it.”
But all’s not sunshine and rainbows in the world of Selena Gomez at the moment. At her one-night-only UNICEF concert this weekend, she took a cue from ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber and covered “Cry Me a River.” According to Us Weekly, just before the performance, she mentions, “I’ve been through a lot the past few months. It’s been weird and sad and cool. This song definitely speaks to me.” This is the same Justin Timberlake tune JB took on just after one of the former couple’s first reported splits.
