Selena Gomez Forced to Cancel Russian Concerts Reportedly Due to Anti-Gay Law
Selena Gomez's fans in Russia were devastated to learn that her concerts at St. Petersburg's Ice Palace and Moscow's Olimpiisky Stadium (which were scheduled for September 23 and 25, respectively) were suddenly canceled. But the reason why is what's causing major debate…
Apparently, the 21-year-old singer was denied access to the country because she "failed to secure a Russian visa after the government tightened the visa regime for foreign musicians in response to Madonna's and Lady Gaga's decisions to openly support gays during their shows in Russia last year." According to The Moscow Times, said law was most likely the deciding factor in Selena's denial, thereby leading to the immediate cancellation of her performances. So far, there's been no word on ticket refunds.
