Selena Gomez Cancels Australian Tour Leg of Stars Dance Tour
Sorry to all those Selenators down under — you'll be missing out on the Australian leg of her Stars Dance tour. Selena Gomez released a statement on Thursday detailing why she has decided to forego the remaining shows for that part of the tour, citing personal reasons.
The full statement reads: "My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them. But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be. To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me.”
2013 has been a big year for Selena, on a personal and professional level. She's been on and off with Justin Bieber, starred in some grown up roles — including Spring Breakers and Getaway — and let's not forget about that album she dropped in July. And she's been touring non-stop since August, along with making various Jingle Ball appearances around the country.
There were small signs that something like this could happen a couple of weeks ago when she performed at KIIS FM's Jingle Ball in L.A. She had some technical difficulties, cursed, and then ran off the stage before finishing her set.
We bet this time off is much needed!
