Few things are cooler than the life of a Teen.com editor than hanging out on movie sets with celebrities. (Like, does it get any better than that sentence right there?) And the latest movie set we got to hang out on, ya know, after getting shipped off to Montreal for Warm Bodies or overseas to London for Snow White and the Huntsman, was the set of Safe Haven in Southport, North Carolina. In case you’re not too familiar with the latest Nicholas Sparks book-turned-movie, don’t worry even a little since we’re about to tell you EVERYTHING you could possibly wanna know, from what Julianne Hough looks like in person to what kinda snacks the cast and crew (and okay, we) got to indulge in behind the scenes.

So keep clicking through for our 5-part play-by-play of our visit…

Part One: Tour of Southport

I don’t mean to say that this town is literally straight out of a Nicholas Sparks movie, but like, it actually is. The first stop on our tour was of the picturesque town (and by “our,” I mean myself and two other online reporters) where the movie was shot. We got a glimpse of “Alex’s house” (played by the very sexy Josh Duhamel), the restaurant, Ivan’s, where Julianne Hough’s character, Katie, works and more.

Then we drove a few minutes away to a quaint little yellow house to chat with the one, the only Nicholas Sparks! He brought his pup and his Cody Simpson-lookalike son with him, so that was fun, and so was the interview — he confessed to watching The Notebook over and over and also gave the scoop on Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, who met on the set of his movie, The Last Song, back in 2009. Yeah, obviously I had to go there.

SIDE NOTE: After all the interviews were done, we all went into the little cottage to use the bathroom and Nicholas was on line behind me. Not to be weird or anything but, like, OMG.
