Ryan Reynolds Responds to Blake Lively Unfollowing Him in the Best Way
And by the “best way,” we totally mean in the most Ryan Reynolds way possible. But seriously, is there ANY other way than the RR way? Didn’t think so.
As you’ve probably heard by now, Blake Lively shocked fans when she completely wiped her Instagram page and ONLY started following women named Emily Nelson. It turns out the move was just a clever tactic used to promote the actress’ upcoming film, A Simple Favor, which follows the story of her character, Emily Nelson, who mysteriously vanished.
Of course, purging her entire Instagram and follow list meant that she unfollowed the person closest to her: her hubby, Ryan. No, unfortunately, he was not an exception to the rule… but could things have been different if he just changed his name to Emily Nelson on Instagram? Okay, that’s definitely another question for another day.
Anyway, we all know how amazing Blake and Ryan’s banter and roasts of each other were on social media, so it was kind of devastating to hear that all those hilarious posts had been deleted. Of course, as disappointed as we are, no one is as disappointed at Blake unfollowing Ryan as Ryan is himself. In fact, during the 41-year-old actor’s press tour for Deadpool 2, he kinda-sorta opened up about his feelings on the matter on Australian radio show, Smallzy’s Surgery. While the two were playing a drawing game, host Smallzy asked Ryan how he felt about his wife unfollowing him, and his response was absolutely hilarious.
“I’m very sad about that,” Ryan sarcastically responded. “Definitely stinks. It’s a terrible way to find out that I’ve been kicked out of the house, to be honest. Absolutely terrible. I don’t know where rage like that comes from.”
Smallzy then joked that at least the couple’s kids are too young to understand what’s going on between them on social media, which prompted Ryan to play out how that conversation with his kids would probably go. “Yeah, that’s true, yeah,” the Deadpool 2 actor said before acting out a possible scenario in which he tells his kids what their mom just did. “‘Mommy unfollowed daddy on Instagram.’ My child would just fart and then walk away.”
Okay, he’s officially our favorite Hollywood dad and we think Blake would agree.
